| Kyle's Review The Queen’s Landing is one of the Larger Hotels
in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It is situated a little way from the center of the
town near the marina. Since we were staying at one of the Vintage Inns,
our meal plan allowed us to dine at the Queen’s Landing.
If you arrive early, there is a beautiful sitting room/library down the
hall from the dining room. This offers a plethora of books and the
ambience of a room with beautiful hardwood paneling.
The dining room has a view of the Niagara River and the local
marina/yacht club. The dining room is spacious and yet offers a number of
intimate corners. There is a patio for al fresco dining if you are in the
mood.
To start, I opted for the Grilled Tiger Shrimp appetizer. That was
definitely a good choice. For the main course, I had the Cornish Hen. For
desert I had their espresso/chocolate Symphony which should be a hit with
any chocolate and coffee lover. It was for me. In short, the food was
excellent all around.
Reservations are advised. The dining room offers a partial view of the
Niagara River. We were seated at a window seat. The hotel is modern but it
is decorated in a warm period style.
The service was a little slow on our visit. The waitress was friendly
but it took a little over two hours to complete our meal. On the other
hand, she was very accommodating, especially for our son's requests.
They are definitely kid friendly. All of the Vintage Inns have a
children's menu.
If you go, parking can be a little tight in the area. If you are
staying in the center of town, you will probably want to drive to the
restaurant. The Queen's Landing is a little distance from any shopping or
other night life. |
