The Old Scow at Niagara Falls

The Old Scow is a lesser known, but interesting attraction at Niagara Falls. It broke loose from it's tow above Niagara Falls in the early 1900's with two men aboard. Without any means of control or power, it was heading downstream and would soon head over the falls. The men on board had the presence of mind to open the dump doors to scuttle it. This stopped it from going over the Horseshoe Falls. They were rescued thanks to a local daredevil. You can see the remains of the scow if you are viewing the Horseshoe Falls from many of the vantage points.
