The Skylon Tower at Niagara FallsThe Skylon Tower provides one of the most spectacular views of the Falls area, including the cities of Niagara Falls Ontario and Niagara Falls, New York, without using a helicopter. There is some reasonably priced parking at the base of the tower. After you are done you can walk down a steep path to Victoria Park. The tower was built in the 1960's and has a somewhat 60's retro or Doo Wop look inside. There is a huge gameroom in the basement and a number of shops on the first floor.
After you purchase your tickets, you are directed to one of the three exterior elevators. They have large windows so if you position yourself properly you can get a great view on the way up or down. As one who has some reluctance about heights I can say that the ride up and down is very tame. When you arrive at the top, you step out into the enclosed 360 degree viewing platform. If the weather is too bad, you can shoot through the glass but you will get the Darwin fencing in all of your pictures. (metal fencing to keep people from falling). If you are in the mood for dinner with a view, they offer two dining rooms at the top of the tower. they have an early bird special that is worth checking out. Tips
